Heptio’s leadership includes two of the founding engineers of the Kubernetes project.
Prior to starting Heptio, Craig was a product manager at Google where he was part of the team that created the Kubernetes project and was responsible for several commercial cloud computing products including Google Compute Engine, Google Container Engine, and Google Deployment Manager. In 2015, he helped to create the Cloud Native Computing Foundation that he also chaired. Prior to Google, Craig worked on enterprise technologies at Microsoft for almost a decade.
Joe Beda started his career at Microsoft working on Internet Explorer (he was young and naive). Throughout 7 years at Microsoft and 10 at Google, Joe has worked on GUI frameworks, real-time voice and chat, telephony, machine learning for ads, and cloud computing. Most notably, while at Google Joe started the Google Compute Engine and, along with Brendan and Craig McLuckie, created Kubernetes. Joe proudly calls Seattle home.
